The ultimate skin rejuvenation - New Skin, New You.

VJUVE uses the latest fractional technology, creating tiny dots or perforations within the skin and leaving normal tissue in between causing contraction and tightening, with much quicker recovery and less downtime and risks than conventional laser resurfacing.

The CO2 laser uses a Pulse and Scan technology making it capable of treating even the most complex cases including scarring, deep wrinkles and pigmentation even on very delicate skin and areas such as the neck and eyelids. The 3D VIJUVE LASER features specific pattern and algorithms for the CO2 laser, minimising the local increase in temperature and enhancing post treatment recovery.

Everything you need to know about C02 Fractional Laser Resurfacing

Due to its powerful yet versatile nature, the VJUVE can treat all skin types and all areas. It is perfect for skin tightening, fine lines and wrinkles, uneven skin texture, large pores, pigmentation, various skin lesions, scars (including acne scars), stretch marks and rejuvenation of the face, neck, décolletage, hands and body.

The VJUVE has many variables including scanning method, SmartStack levels, shape/size, dwell time, power and treatment density giving over 1½ million combinations that can be tailored accurately and individually to each patient. Perfectly controlled energy pulses are generated and directed to the treatment area.

The pulse provides rapid and short burst of controlled heat leading to micro-ablation followed by a lower energy thermal effect which produces shrinkage and collagen and elastin production. Fractional skin resurfacing requires a number of treatment sessions but with much more rapid recovery time and less complications than traditional laser resurfacing. The VJUVE can also be used for dermatological surgery and the excision of many skin lesions.

Any laser treatment has the potential to causes adverse effects including pigmentation or loss of pigment, prolonged swelling, prolonged redness, inflammation of the skin or precipitate an outbreak of cold sores. It is essential that a test patch is performed prior to treatment to ensure that the correct settings are selected. If a person if prone to cold sores, medication can be prescribed to prevent them from occurring.

The 3D VJUVE is considered extremely safe compared to many other lasers. Topical anaesthetic is applied for about 30 minutes prior to fractional skin resurfacing and local anaesthetic may be injected prior to the removal of skin lesions making the procedure more comfortable. Most people will experience a tingling and possibly stinging sensation, however if it does become uncomfortable, the settings can be adjusted to make it more pleasant.

Following fractional skin resurfacing the skin may feel warm and tight, there may be some redness similar to being out in the sun too long and depending on the area being treated, there may be some swelling. Cold packs may be applied immediately after treatment and in the subsequent days if warmth and redness is an issue.

Tiny white dots may be visible on the skin and some flaking may occur over the following days. Swelling often develops the next day and can take a few days to resolve and in a few cases can be quite dramatic. After treatment a balm may be applied to aid the healing process and a high factor sun-screen is required. The treatment results in smoother, softer skin, the disappearance of fine lines and wrinkles, improved tone and pigmentation and a more youthful appearance.

Most people will notice results after one treatment but often two or more are required, this will be discussed during your initial consultation.

Although some results will be noticed within the first few days due to micro-ablation and shrinkage, collagen production and further rejuvenation will take several months to appear and the results are permanent. However, the ageing process is ongoing and the use of cosmeceutical skin care products and other treatments may help maintain the benefit. Periodic maintenance treatments with VJUVE will ensure results remain.

Prior to treatment, use a high factor SPF50 sun-screen for 4 weeks to help improve your results and reduce the risk of possible side-effects. Similarly, avoid tanning beds and tanning lotions for the same period. Do not use any exfoliating products (such as creams containing glycolic acid), products containing Vitamin A (Retinol), exfoliative treatments or peels for 7 days prior to treatment.

During your consultation, please advise the practitioner of your normal skin care regime so we can ensure the products you are using are compatible with SmartXide DOT.

Complete a medical history form prior to treatment so any precluding medical conditions or medications can be identified. You may not be suitable for treatment if you have any of the following conditions:

  • Pregnancy/Breast feeding
  • Systemic illness/Cancer
  • Infection at the treatment site/Open wounds
  • Immunosuppression (including treatment with chemotherapy agents or steroids)
  • Auto-immune disease
  • Uncontrolled diabetes
  • Certain skin conditions
  • Hypertrophic/Keloid scarring
  • Roaccutane®
  • Allergy to anaesthetic agents
  • Mental health issues/Body dysmorphia

If you have previously suffered from cold sores, it is recommended to take medication to prevent an outbreak following treatment if you are having the procedure performed on the lower face. This is ideally started 2 days before treatment or immediately after the procedure at the latest. Aciclovir 400mg twice a day for 5 days is the recommended drug to prevent an outbreak occurring. These will be provided to you by your practitioner.

Certain medications can lead to photosensitivity and a greater risk of side effects, it is important to be honest and fully disclose all medication taken. The following list includes drugs that may interfere with treatment:

  • Certain antibiotics (tetracyclines, ciprofloxacin)
  • Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (ibuprofen, naproxen, diclofenac, indomethacin)
  • Water tablets/Diuretics (furosemide, bumetanide, bendroflumethiazide)
  • Anti-diabetic drugs (gliclazide)
  • Anti-depressants (amitriptyline, citalopram, fluoxetine, paroxetine, sertraline)
  • Others (amiodarone, diltiazem, quinine, hydroxychloroquine, enalapril)

If you are unwell on the day of treatment, please contact the clinic to rearrange your appointment. If you have any specific questions, ask the practitioner prior to treatment.

Following fractional skin resurfacing the skin may feel warm and tight and there may be some redness. Swelling may be present after treatment but often develops the next day and can take up to a week to resolve and sometimes longer. In a few cases and particularly when treating around the eyes, swelling can be quite dramatic, giving the eyes a puffy appearance and interfering with fully opening the eyes. Full face treatment similarly can result in an abnormal, more rounded appearance for a few days.

Cold compresses may be applied immediately after treatment and in the subsequent days if warmth, redness or swelling is of concern. Anti-inflammatory medication, such as ibuprofen, or anti-histamines may help the initial skin reaction to settle quicker. Tiny white dots may be visible on the skin and some flaking may occur over the following days. Do not pick or scratch at the skin as this may result in an infection or scarring. Do not use topical exfoliants or exfoliative treatments for 4 weeks post procedure.

Occasionally the treated area may become a little weepy, this is part of the normal healing process and will improve with time. However, if it starts to become hot or red or if there is any pus present, then please contact the clinic for advice as this may suggest an infection has developed. Do not apply a plaster or an occlusive dressing. After treatment, a balm or cream may be applied to aid the healing process. If you are required to continue to use this, it will be provided to you with the appropriate instructions.

A high factor SPF50 sun-screen is required to use on all treated areas for 3 months and it is advised to avoid sun exposure as much as possible. The treated area should be gently washed with tepid water and mild soap and then a simple moisturiser applied to the skin. Avoid hot water until healing is complete. Most people will notice results after one treatment but often two or more are required.

I have been a customer for over 15 years and travel 200 miles / 5 hours specially for my nails and treatments with Vicky at Youthful Aesthetics / Harmony! That is how good I think her team are! Second to none. Nothing is too much trouble and I can always be squeezed in for an extra treatment if I need it. I can’t recommend her and her team enough.
